To mitigate the critical shortage of personnel within the public healthcare sector, the Bangladeshi government has launched a comprehensive recruitment initiative. Fulfilling a campaign promise, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare aims to hire 100,000 health workers across three distinct stages. For the 2026–27 fiscal year, the initial phase focuses on onboarding 45,700 staff members. Furthermore, the administration intends to bolster local medical services by appointing 5,000 doctors via a specialized Bangladesh Civil Service examination. Officials from the Health Services Division and the Medical Education and Family Welfare Division have verified these developments. Currently, the Directorate General of Health Services and the Directorate General of Family Planning are collaborating to finalize the operational details of this large-scale employment drive.
