Azmeri Haque Badhon, a prominent Bangladeshi actress, has detailed a recent experience of physical assault and harassment while traveling in Italy. The artist reported that she was targeted with various liquids and eggs, and her phone was forcibly removed from her grasp during the encounter. Badhon was with her brother’s child when the incident occurred. She alleges that the attackers, who claimed affiliation with the Awami League and its student wing, attempted to force her to chant political slogans while filming the event for online distribution. The actress attributes the hostility to her public support for the student-led mass movement in Bangladesh during mid-2024. Following the incident, she initiated legal proceedings by filing a report with the local Italian police. Badhon, who was in Italy for an event, remains firm in her stance despite the intimidation attempt.
