A significant number of patients in Bangladesh are choosing to travel abroad for medical procedures, resulting in the outflow of billions of taka. Individuals cite various frustrations with the local healthcare system, including inaccurate diagnostic results, brief and hurried doctor consultations, and escalating costs for medical services. While patients express a lack of confidence in the quality of domestic care, medical professionals suggest that the trend is also exacerbated by profit-driven motives within the private healthcare sector. This ongoing exodus highlights a growing disconnect between the needs of the public and the services currently provided by local hospitals and clinics, prompting urgent questions regarding the standard and accessibility of healthcare within the country.
