Chinese Public Security Minister Wang Xiaohong recently hosted a meeting in Beijing with interior ministers and police chiefs from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The discussions focused on enhancing collaborative efforts to combat the threats of terrorism, separatism, and extremism across the region. A primary objective of this security mechanism is to ensure the safety of infrastructure projects and economic interests linked to China’s Belt and Road Initiative. By fostering closer ties between law enforcement agencies, Beijing aims to create a more stable environment for trade and energy cooperation. This initiative highlights China's commitment to regional security and the protection of its significant investments in Central Asia, as officials work to coordinate strategies against transnational security challenges.
