The Johor state government has officially distanced itself from a federal statutory body chairman recently detained on suspicion of bribery. Jafni Shukor, the state’s housing and local government committee chairman, urged the public to avoid making unfounded connections between the state administration and the ongoing investigation. He emphasized that the state government maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any individuals attempting to exploit public housing initiatives for personal enrichment. According to Jafni, the state remains fully committed to its mandate of providing accessible and affordable housing for all residents of Johor. He reiterated that the integrity of public housing programs is a top priority and that the state will not permit any form of misconduct or abuse of authority within these essential services.
