Gadi Eisenkot, the former Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, stated that he faced difficulties reaching the Prime Minister for as long as two hours following the incident. However, a military official, who reportedly reviewed relevant documentation, contends that Mr. Netanyahu was informed without delay and quickly gave his approval for the retaliatory actions. Eisenkot's political faction has publicly affirmed the accuracy of his account regarding the communication delay.
