A significant number of federal lawmakers in Nepal have committed to contributing a portion of their earnings to assist individuals affected by recent floods. As of Monday, 131 members of the federal parliament formally requested the Federal Parliament Secretariat to deduct specific amounts from their salaries for this purpose. The Nepalese federal parliament comprises a 275-member House of Representatives and a 59-member National Assembly. The lawmakers who have made this pledge represent various political parties, including the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, and the Nepali Communist Party. Among the contributors are 38 Nepali Congress members from the House of Representatives and 24 from the National Assembly, demonstrating a cross-party effort to support the flood relief initiatives.
