The Department of Public Works and Highways has instructed regional and district engineering units across the Philippines to prioritize road repairs before the Undas period on November 1 and 2, 2026. Officials are tasked with filling potholes and removing obstructions on major thoroughfares, specifically focusing on routes that provide access to public and private cemeteries. In the National Capital Region, maintenance efforts are concentrated on roads surrounding key burial sites such as the Manila North Cemetery, La Loma Cemetery, and the Manila Chinese Cemetery. These measures aim to ensure that infrastructure remains safe and accessible for the anticipated surge in vehicular and pedestrian traffic during the annual observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
