A devastating fire broke out in the Paniai district of Indonesia's Central Papua province early this morning, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals. According to local police spokesperson Henry J. Manurung, the victims included five adults and six children ranging from two to nine years old. The blaze began shortly after midnight and spread rapidly, consuming at least 40 kiosks and residential structures over the course of three hours. Despite the efforts of emergency responders using fire trucks and water cannons, the dense concentration of the buildings contributed to the severity of the incident. Law enforcement officials have initiated an investigation to determine the origin of the fire, which caused significant destruction to the local market area.
