A blaze erupted early Saturday morning at a wooden resort and restaurant situated on Patuartek Sea Beach in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the fire began at approximately 7:30 am. By 11:00 am, authorities confirmed that four bodies had been retrieved from the debris. Additionally, five people sustained injuries and were transported to Ukhiya Hospital for medical treatment. While the identities of the victims remain unconfirmed, officials suspect they were tourists visiting the popular coastal area. Preliminary reports from local witnesses suggest the fire might have started in the kitchen area, though an official investigation is required to determine the exact cause. The district administration is currently overseeing the situation near the Marine Drive road as recovery efforts conclude.
