Houthi rebels supported by Iran conducted missile strikes against Aden International Airport on Friday evening. This assault follows a lethal attack on the presidential palace in the same city just one day prior. Aden has served as the base for Yemen's legitimate government since the 2015 Houthi takeover of Sanaa, which triggered the ongoing national civil war. According to Information Minister Moammar Eryani, two projectiles struck near the runway, landing approximately 500 meters from a departing aircraft. Fortunately, all passengers remained unharmed during the incident. Minister Eryani condemned the actions as a serious breach of international legal standards. Local security officials confirmed this represents the second time the airport has been targeted within a seven-day period. The Houthi military faction has claimed responsibility for operations directed against Saudi-aligned interests in the region.
