The German government is preparing to contest a legal challenge brought by Nicaragua before the International Court of Justice. Nicaragua alleges that Berlin is complicit in genocide within the Gaza Strip by providing military equipment to Israel. As the second-largest provider of arms to the Israeli state, Germany has formally dismissed these accusations, asserting that the claims lack any foundation in either international law or factual evidence. The proceedings at the Hague will address whether German military support constitutes a violation of international obligations regarding the ongoing conflict. Berlin maintains that its defense policies are compliant with legal standards and intends to defend its position throughout the judicial process.
