Domestic fuel prices across India saw minimal changes on September 7, despite a rise in Brent crude futures following heightened tensions in the Middle East. While Mumbai experienced a slight increase in petrol rates, most state-run oil marketing companies maintained existing pricing structures. Global oil markets were influenced by reports of military confrontations near the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing regional conflicts. In response to these geopolitical pressures, OPEC nations, including Saudi Arabia and Russia, have collectively decided to maintain their current oil production quotas for October 2026. Although international crude prices climbed by 0.4 percent, the impact on Indian retail consumers remained largely contained as of Monday morning.
