Thailand's Interior Minister, Anutin Charnvirakul, has publicly supported the implementation of updated deportation protocols aimed at removing foreign visitors whose behavior is deemed inappropriate. This statement follows his recent order to deport an Israeli citizen, Yaacov Ohayon, under the newly established Prime Minister’s Office Regulation on Deportation. Ohayon had previously received a suspended prison sentence and a fine from the Koh Samui Provincial Court after being convicted of sending threatening messages that induced fear in others. Anutin emphasized that these revised guidelines provide the government with enhanced authority to manage foreign nationals who violate local laws or engage in improper conduct. The minister addressed these developments during a press briefing at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, highlighting the government's commitment to maintaining public order through stricter enforcement of immigration policies regarding international tourists.
