DAP adviser Lim Guan Eng has publicly challenged PAS, accusing the party of hypocrisy regarding its stance on Islam and its portrayal of DAP. Lim highlighted his tenure as finance minister between 2018 and 2020, during which he successfully lowered the frequency of special lottery draws from 22 to eight per year. He expressed frustration that PAS has failed to acknowledge this achievement, which he considers a reflection of his commitment to policy reform. Furthermore, Lim noted that the subsequent administration, involving PAS, Umno, Barisan Nasional, and Perikatan Nasional, reversed these efforts by increasing the number of special draws back to 22 annually. He argued that the omission of his record by PAS demonstrates a lack of honesty and sincerity in their political discourse.
