MMDA Chairman Don Artes confirmed the development, noting that the two officials discussed the matter on Monday. During their meeting, Torre initially expressed an intention to resign from his government position, though Artes encouraged him to reconsider that choice. Ultimately, the general manager opted for a temporary leave instead. Chairman Artes publicly expressed continued confidence in Torre, describing him as a valuable member of the agency. Artes emphasized that the recent controversy should not overshadow Torre's broader professional history or his previous contributions to national service. The agency head maintained that a solitary event is insufficient to judge the entirety of an official's career performance.
