The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) has announced that its National Computer Emergency Response Team is actively managing several cyber security threats targeting Philippine government portals. Recent incidents include unauthorized entry into the Department of Migrant Workers' website, a defacement attack against the Department of Labor and Employment, and a suspected ransomware strike on the Philippine Ports Authority. To mitigate these breaches, the DICT has initiated emergency protocols, collaborating closely with the affected agencies' IT departments. Technical teams are currently focused on strengthening access controls and isolating compromised systems to facilitate thorough forensic investigations. These measures aim to secure government digital infrastructure and prevent further unauthorized exploitation of sensitive online platforms.
