Photographs circulating on social media show two large pieces of raw pork resting on the floor at a wet market located at Block 216 Bedok North Street 1. The images, posted to a Facebook group on October 2, prompted public concern regarding food hygiene standards. The 64-year-old stall owner, identified as Fang, acknowledged the incident but clarified that the meat had fallen from the top of a chest freezer by mistake. He maintained that the placement was accidental rather than intentional. The stall owner stated he is prepared to face potential penalties from regulatory authorities for the incident. Following the event, he claimed the meat was cleaned the next morning. The images appear to have been taken when the market was closed and unoccupied.
