Official records from the Pakistan Bar Council have confirmed that the University of the Punjab has verified the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees held by prominent attorney Chaudhry Ahsan Bhoon. This verification process was initiated following a request from the Pakistan Bar Council, led by Attorney General Mansoor Awan, on December 19, 2025. The inquiry into these credentials emerged amidst a broader political campaign led by Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar, the husband of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Safdar has been vocal in challenging the professional qualifications of members associated with the government-supported Independent Group. The confirmation of these academic documents serves to address the public questions raised regarding Bhoon's professional background.
