Residents in Shymkent expressed significant safety concerns after a sewer construction project left a local street in a hazardous state. The contractor had abandoned the site, resulting in exposed manholes and an uneven road surface that posed risks to school children and elderly pedestrians. Following reports by a television news outlet, local authorities intervened by instructing the contractor to complete the necessary repairs. The construction firm subsequently returned to the site and successfully leveled the road and secured the open manholes within a single day. The Energy and Infrastructure Development Department confirmed that the trenches have been filled and the street has been restored to a safe condition for public use.
