Barisan Nasional is nearing the conclusion of its seat allocation discussions for the upcoming Melaka state election. According to Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, approximately 90 percent of the negotiations are finished, with the coalition focused on defending its existing 21 seats within the 28-member state assembly. Deliberations regarding the final seven constituencies are ongoing, with potential seat swaps currently being evaluated. Dr. Asyraf emphasized that the coalition has established a foundational agreement and highlighted the importance of addressing the grassroots demand for unity between the nation's primary Malay political factions. He urged supporters to maintain confidence in the ongoing efforts to foster a cohesive Muslim political alliance as the party prepares for the electoral process.
