A collaborative search mission involving the Sri Lanka Army and the Department of Wildlife Conservation is currently underway in the Nachchaduwa region. The operation, aimed at finding an injured elephant identified as Agbo, includes a total of 75 personnel, consisting of 65 military members and 10 wildlife officials. Although local inhabitants reported sightings of the animal on the previous afternoon, the expansive nature of the terrain has hindered efforts to pinpoint its precise location. Search teams, supported by drone technology, are actively patrolling the area where other wild elephants have also been observed. The mission resumed early this morning under the coordination of local wildlife authorities to ensure the safety and potential treatment of the wounded creature.
