A collective of Sri Lankan expatriates known as Europaye Aluthgama Api recently conducted a tourism promotion event in Graz, Austria. Comprising individuals from Aluthgama village who are currently settled in 22 different European nations, the group gathers annually in a selected city to encourage international travel to their home country. During this year's initiative, participants utilized their personal funds to host activities such as singing traditional songs, wearing cultural attire, and distributing informational pamphlets to passersby under the #Visit_Sri_Lanka campaign. These voluntary efforts aim to increase global awareness of Sri Lanka as a travel destination. The initiative has received positive recognition for its grassroots approach to boosting the nation's tourism sector through direct engagement with the public in Europe.
