A 14-year-old student in Thailand carried out a deadly attack on Friday, beginning with the murder of his grandparents at their home before traveling to his school. Using a firearm belonging to his grandfather, the teenager killed five people and injured 23 others at Debsirin Nonthaburi School. The assailant, described by authorities as a quiet student who faced academic pressure, eventually took his own life as police secured the building. Officials noted the boy had planned the assault, which involved at least 26 rounds of ammunition. The incident has prompted the Thai government to consider stricter regulations on public firearm possession. This tragedy marks the most severe mass shooting in the country since 2022, reigniting national debates regarding gun control and student mental health support within the education system.
