Law enforcement officials in Istanbul and Eskisehir apprehended ten individuals on Friday suspected of providing financial support to Burkay Karatepe, a former military captain. Karatepe, who was captured in early August, faces accusations of involvement in an attempted assassination of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the 2016 coup attempt. Police conducted coordinated raids across ten separate locations, confiscating digital evidence during the operation. The suspects are being transferred to Mugla province to undergo formal questioning. Authorities reportedly identified these individuals through data recovered from electronic devices previously seized from Karatepe. As of Friday, specific details regarding the financial transactions, the identities of those detained, or the precise legal charges remain undisclosed. No statements have been issued by the detainees or their legal representatives regarding these allegations.
