Furthermore, the government has designated the region within 50 kilometres of the border between Cambodia and Thailand as a Level 4 'Do Not Travel' zone. This stricter warning is attributed to persistent military tensions and the potential for armed conflict, which have previously resulted in civilian injuries. Officials have cautioned that the capacity of the U.S. government to deliver emergency assistance in these border territories remains restricted. Additionally, travelers visiting the capital city of Phnom Penh are encouraged to remain vigilant due to the prevalence of criminal activity.
