The Ben Luc-Long Thanh Expressway, a major infrastructure project valued at VND31.3 trillion, is nearing completion after facing significant funding and policy obstacles since its 2014 inception. Spanning across Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, and Tay Ninh, the route aims to alleviate traffic congestion by bypassing urban centers and connecting the Mekong Delta to the upcoming Long Thanh International Airport. While approximately 30 kilometers are already operational, the full route remains closed pending the finalization of the Phuoc Khanh Bridge. Once fully accessible, the four-lane expressway will feature a 100 kph speed limit and serve as a vital link for freight and passenger transport between the southeastern region and the Mekong Delta. The project is expected to be fully functional by September, supporting regional connectivity ahead of the airport's scheduled commercial launch in December.
