During President Xi Jinping's recent state visit to the United States, the composition of the guest list for the official banquet highlighted a notable disparity between the two nations. While the American side featured a significant presence of prominent corporate leaders and technology executives, including figures from Nvidia, AMD, and Apple, the Chinese delegation was composed exclusively of government officials. Out of the 134 attendees, only 19 individuals represented China, all of whom were members of the state apparatus, such as Politburo member Cai Qi and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. This contrast underscored a shift in the diplomatic focus of the Chinese delegation, which prioritized political representation over the inclusion of private sector business leaders during this high-level engagement with U.S. counterparts.
