The Astana city administration has confirmed an upcoming adjustment to public transport pricing, scheduled for implementation by the end of October. Under the updated tariff structure, standard city bus fares will increase to 150 tenge for cashless transactions, while cash payments will rise to 300 tenge. Express services are set to cost 300 tenge via electronic payment or 400 tenge for cash. Suburban routes will be calculated at 13 tenge per kilometer for cashless users and 19 tenge for those paying with cash. Despite these changes, the city maintains free travel on socially significant routes for holders of discounted transport cards. The new policy also outlines protocols for passengers in the event of electronic system malfunctions, ensuring that those utilizing digital payment methods remain protected from additional charges during technical outages.
