A recent report from the International Air Transport Association indicates that Central Asia is becoming a vital hub for international air logistics. Between 2019 and 2024, the region experienced a significant expansion in air cargo activity, with total volumes more than doubling. This growth is largely attributed to the region's role as a strategic corridor for trade between Europe and Asia. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have emerged as the primary drivers of this trend, showing the most rapid development in the area. Furthermore, the proportion of direct transit cargo passing through Central Asia has risen from 59% to approximately 65%. Specifically, Kazakhstan saw a 149% increase in its combined inbound, outbound, and transit cargo figures during this five-year period, underscoring the region's rising importance in global supply chains.
