Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun has formally requested that Japan carefully examine its historical record of aggression and listen to the concerns of neighboring nations. During a press briefing on Monday, Guo emphasized that Tokyo should abandon any efforts toward remilitarization. These comments followed reports that Russia had issued a notification to Japan regarding the United States' installation of the Typhon mid-range missile system on the island of Kyushu. Beijing characterized this deployment as unacceptable, reiterating its stance that Japan must acknowledge the historical consequences of the Second World War and refrain from policies that could lead to renewed military expansion in the region.
