The High Court of Hong Kong has commenced the trial of three men accused of the 2023 murder and dismemberment of socialite Abby Choi. The defendants include her former husband, Alex Kwong, along with his father, Kwong Kau, and brother, Anthony Kwong. In addition to the murder charges, the trio faces allegations of obstructing the lawful burial of the victim's remains. The case dates back to February 2023, when police discovered parts of the influencer's body in a residential property located in Tai Po. Presided over by Deputy Judge Brian Keith, the proceedings have drawn significant public attention. If found guilty by the jury, the accused could face life sentences. The trial follows a long investigation into the killing that previously garnered international headlines due to its nature.
