The Chinese Ministry of Defense has formally reiterated its territorial claims over Huangyan Dao and Nansha Qundao, dismissing recent assertions made by the Philippines regarding maritime rights in these areas. Defense spokesperson Chen Xi stated on Friday that these specific reefs and islands fall entirely outside of Philippine jurisdiction. This official declaration comes in response to recent tensions and allegations from the Philippine military concerning the presence of over 100 Chinese vessels in the vicinity. Beijing maintains that it will actively work to deter any activities it deems as sabotage or interference within these waters, emphasizing its sovereign control over the disputed maritime features.
