The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has publicly questioned the Delhi Police regarding the whereabouts of its founder, Abhijeet Dipke, following his detention. The party asserts that Dipke’s family needs to communicate with him before his grandmother’s funeral services on Sunday. While the Delhi Police stated on social media that they informed Dipke of the bereavement and offered travel assistance, the CJP continues to press for direct contact. This incident occurs amidst a broader crackdown in the capital, where approximately 4,000 individuals, including prominent political figures like Arvind Kejriwal and Mamata Banerjee, were detained during protests at Jantar Mantar. Activist Sonam Wangchuk has criticized these mass detentions, describing the situation as an undeclared emergency and threatening a hunger strike if the detained leaders are not released promptly.
