Delhi authorities have arrested three members of the Cockroach Janta Party—Ashutosh Ranka, Saurav Das, and Ajinkya Shinde—following a protest at Jantar Mantar. The group entered the site to demonstrate against the government's decision to remove its status as a designated protest area. While Shinde was granted release on a personal bond, a special executive magistrate court remanded Ranka and Das to five days of judicial custody. Legal representatives for the campaign stated that the individuals face charges including trespassing, obstruction of public officials, and violating bond conditions. The incident drew criticism from Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, who characterized the arrests as an act of cowardice, asserting that peaceful demonstrations involving the national flag should not be treated as criminal offenses.
