Retail establishments and shopping complexes in Dhaka have reverted to their standard operating schedule of 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. This change follows the conclusion of a temporary extension granted for the Durga Puja festival, during which businesses were permitted to stay open until 10:00 pm. The Power Division had authorized this brief adjustment on 5 October, but the original regulations were reinstated on 23 October. These restrictions on business hours were initially introduced by the government on 12 August as a measure to conserve national electricity consumption. Furthermore, the authorities have maintained the requirement for commercial outlets to turn off non-essential lighting after 7:00 pm as part of ongoing energy management efforts.
