The High Court in Kuala Lumpur has granted an acquittal to former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin regarding four specific charges linked to the Bukhary Equity Sdn Bhd funds. Prosecutors informed the court of their decision to discontinue the trial for these particular counts, which had originally been part of a seven-charge indictment involving allegations of power abuse and money laundering. While the initial case accused the former leader of soliciting RM225.3 million in bribes for his political party, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, the legal proceedings will now focus exclusively on the remaining three charges. These outstanding counts pertain to allegations of power abuse involving RM25.3 million. The court's decision follows a request from the prosecution for a discharge not amounting to an acquittal, effectively narrowing the scope of the ongoing corruption trial against the former premier.
