A social media personality from Madurai, India, identified as Veeramani, experienced significant trouble after publicly disclosing his home address. Intending to receive festive Deepavali treats from his audience, the influencer instead became the target of a prank where individuals placed numerous cash-on-delivery orders in his name. These unauthorized shipments included expensive household items such as refrigerators, washing machines, and high-end televisions, with one unit valued at approximately 169,000 rupees. Overwhelmed by the influx of deliveries, Veeramani utilized Instagram to plead with his followers to cease the activity. He explained that he lacked the funds to pay for these unwanted goods and highlighted the inconvenience caused to delivery personnel who traveled long distances to his residence. The incident serves as a cautionary example of the risks associated with sharing personal location details on digital platforms.
