A prominent academic suggests that Kazakhstan and Hong Kong possess the potential to jointly cultivate billion-dollar biotechnology firms. By combining Kazakhstan’s skilled technical workforce with Hong Kong’s extensive international financial infrastructure, the two regions could foster significant growth in the sector. Huck-Hui Ng, who serves as the dean of the school of medicine at Nazarbayev University, noted that Kazakhstan has already established a foundation in the biotech industry. The country has successfully launched several start-ups focusing on digital health and artificial intelligence. This partnership aims to leverage these existing technological strengths alongside the capital-raising capabilities of Hong Kong to accelerate the development of high-value biotech enterprises.
