Starting Monday, the Korea Exchange is set to implement an extended trading schedule, allowing transactions to continue until 8 p.m. This initiative covers the majority of stocks listed on both the Kospi and Kosdaq indices, aiming to provide market participants with greater flexibility and accessibility. While the standard market session remains fixed between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., the new evening window adds significant time for trading activity. When combined with the early morning premarket sessions offered by the alternative platform Nextrade, the total daily window for stock market operations will reach 12 hours. This adjustment represents a strategic effort by the bourse operator to modernize market access and accommodate a broader range of investor schedules.
