Lahore Zoo has introduced a sponsorship initiative allowing private entities and individuals to financially support specific animals. Participants can choose sponsorship durations ranging from one month to a full year, receiving benefits such as educational resources, certificates, and the opportunity to visit their chosen animal. While sponsors are permitted to provide feedback on care and diet, zoo officials maintain that the primary responsibility for the health, feeding, and management of the animals remains strictly with the facility's veterinary staff. The program includes varied pricing tiers, with apex predators like lions and tigers requiring an annual contribution of one million rupees. Despite the financial influx, the scheme has sparked a public debate regarding whether these funds will effectively translate into improved living conditions for the animals housed within the zoo's enclosures.
