The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding the arrival of a Super El Nino phenomenon anticipated between March and May 2027. Director-general Dr. Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip stated that the country may experience extreme heat, potentially surpassing the previous national record of 40.1 degrees Celsius. Projections suggest temperatures could climb beyond 41 degrees Celsius due to the convergence of intense El Nino conditions, long-term climate change, and global warming trends. Meteorological analysis indicates that the national temperature has risen by roughly 0.13 degrees Celsius per decade. Given the historical data from 1998, experts believe the cumulative effect of these environmental factors could push heat levels significantly higher than the record established nearly three decades ago.
