Fadel Adib, an MIT professor and founder of the AI firm Cartesian, suggests that artificial intelligence is fundamentally altering human capabilities. Speaking at a World Economic Forum gathering in Dubai, Adib argued that relying on large language models like ChatGPT could enable individuals to function at a superior intellectual capacity, even if it necessitates the loss of traditional life skills. His company currently implements AI solutions to assist robots in managing inventory across retail and warehouse environments in fifteen nations. Adib emphasized that the ongoing integration of AI and robotics serves to significantly boost human productivity. He posits that this technological shift is redefining the human experience, viewing the increasing dependence on automated tools as a natural progression rather than an inherently negative development.
