The Nepali Army has reported that approximately 121 individuals remain trapped within the tunnels of several hydropower facilities following the severe flooding in Rasuwa on August 26. During a briefing hosted by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, Brigadier General Subash Jung Thapa confirmed that records indicate 121 people entered these structures before the disaster occurred. Military officials have pledged to persist with search and rescue efforts until every tunnel is fully cleared. Furthermore, authorities suspect that additional project personnel may have been caught by the floods while working outside the tunnel systems. Preliminary assessments suggest that the floodwaters and accompanying debris moved at a velocity of roughly 180 kilometers per hour, causing significant structural damage to the affected sites.
