Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif announced that the Makkah Defence Alliance has reached the implementation stage following increased Houthi drone strikes targeting Saudi Arabia. During a media appearance, Asif emphasized that Pakistan and Türkiye are prepared to support Saudi Arabia both diplomatically and through practical measures if further aggression occurs. This declaration follows a recent incident where Saudi air defences neutralized a Houthi drone near Makkah. The Saudi-led coalition has reiterated that the safety of the Two Holy Mosques remains a non-negotiable priority. Asif characterized the commitment to protect these sacred sites as an enduring obligation, asserting that Pakistan remains fully prepared to defend Makkah and Madinah against external threats.
