This result, combined with China's previous straight-set win over the Philippines, guarantees Kazakhstan a spot in the knockout stage regardless of the outcome of their upcoming match. Kazakhstan is scheduled to face China on September 18 to determine which team finishes at the top of their group. Tournament rules stipulate that the top two teams from each group progress to the playoff round.
