The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) in Peshawar is currently under investigation following a major inconsistency in a ninth-grade student's biology examination results. Initially, the student, Abdul Aziz, received a score of zero, which the board insisted was accurate even after the family requested a formal re-totalling of the marks. However, the grade was later revised to 72, prompting the student's father, Arif Khan, to escalate the matter to the Peshawar High Court. Legal counsel for the family, Amin Yousafzai, argues that the board's initial refusal to acknowledge the error highlights systemic failures within the examination process. This case has raised serious questions regarding the reliability and transparency of the board's grading procedures, leading to increased public and judicial oversight of their administrative practices.
