The Philippine National Police (PNP) has requested a total budget of 242.53 billion pesos for 2027, representing an increase of 16 billion pesos over the previous year. Within this proposal, 1.499 billion pesos is specifically designated for infrastructure development. PNP Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stated that the funds will be used to repair and upgrade police facilities, many of which have sustained damage from recent severe weather events. In addition to infrastructure, the agency is seeking 2 billion pesos for its Capability Enhancement Program and 3.12 billion pesos for information and communications technology upgrades. Nartatez emphasized that these improvements are essential for maintaining effective police services and supporting personnel in the field. The proposed budget is currently awaiting review and approval by the Philippine Congress.
