According to the 2026 Forbes list of America’s Richest Immigrants, India has emerged as the primary country of origin for foreign-born billionaires in the United States. Currently, 19 individuals born in India have achieved billionaire status as immigrants, an increase from 12 the previous year. Overall, the U.S. hosts 144 immigrant billionaires from 45 different nations, possessing a combined net worth of $2.2 trillion. While India provides the highest number of individuals, Israel and Taiwan follow with 11 billionaires each. China, Canada, and Iran also feature prominently in the rankings. Despite India's numerical lead, none of its representatives rank among the top ten wealthiest immigrants. That upper echelon is dominated by figures such as Elon Musk, Sergey Brin, and Jensen Huang, who together hold over 60 percent of the total wealth within this group. New Indian-born additions to the list include tech leaders from sectors like semiconductors and venture capital.
