The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the Philippines has issued a stern warning to construction firms that continue operations despite receiving cease-and-desist orders. This enforcement action follows reports of unauthorized building activities at the Lakeshore Complex in Taguig City. DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon confirmed that show-cause orders have been sent to the involved companies, requiring them to justify their actions. The agency is currently evaluating these responses to decide on appropriate penalties, which may include project suspension or permanent blacklisting from future government contracts. Officials emphasized that they are strictly adhering to procurement regulations to ensure accountability for any contractual breaches. The final decision regarding administrative or legal consequences will be made once the contractors have had their opportunity to provide a formal explanation for their non-compliance.
